THIRD MAINLAND BRIDGE OPENS AS FRSC LAGOS CAUTION USERS TO ADHERE TO SPEED LIMIT

The Lagos Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps wishes to advise motorists plying the newly rehabilitated Third Mainland Bridge to drive cautiously by adhering strictly to speed limit.
This was contained in a statement by the Sector Commander Corps Commander Babatunde Farinloye at the re-opening ceremony of the bridge organised by the Federal Ministry of Works today Thursday 4th of April 2024 through his representative Deputy Corps Commander Lucas Oguntade (DCC Operations FRSC LAGOS).

Corps Commander Farinloye said the maximum speed limit for vehicles on the bridge is 80km/hr. It could be recalled that immediately after the reopening, there was a crash involving three vehicles inward Iyana Oworo axis of the bridge, which could be described as an avoidable/ preventable crash.

FRSC Lagos admonish motorists not to exceed speed limit because speed indeed Thrills but Kills.
Motorists are to obey traffic regulations and rules in order to ensure their safety and that of other road users. He stressed the need for motorist and the general public to use the FRSC Emergency toll free number 122 and National Emergency toll free number 121, in case of crash or any other occurrences that pose as threat to their safety and security.

He re- emphasized FRSC’s commitment to ensuring a safe motoring environment for all and prompt service delivery in case of any emergency. He further said that speeding, aggressive, and distractive driving, as well as driving under influence, remain critical issues that must be collectively addressed.
He thanked the Federal Government and the indefatigable Minister of Works Engr David Umahi for the rehabilitation work, which he said would guarantee quality travel time.
